39-week Update

I was not thrilled about taking 39-week pictures. I was swollen and puffy, having more and more trouble getting around, frustrated that nothing seemed to be happening, and just wasn't real excited about having my picture taken. That being said, I did ask Matt to take a couple of pictures so we could have something to document this time in our lives. These won't be making it into any frames to be displayed around our house, though... that's for sure!

Pregnancy Updates

We're still here! No new news to share, but things are still good and normal (well, as normal as things can be when I'm in the picture!). I'm starting to get a little more anxious about this little girl making her arrival. I'm ready to meet her face to face.

This will most likely be my last week working in the office in Tyler for a while. I'm thankful to have a great job and a great boss, and I'll have the opportunity to work from home for as long as I want or need to. I've been planning on staying home once week 39 hits, but if I'm still feeling ok, I may still drive in a couple of times next week. We'll see.

Matt invited the youth group to make guesses on the baby's arrival date, so MOST dates are covered now. SOMEONE will probably win that game, we just don't know who that someone is yet. :)

There isn't much more to share right now. We're just trying our best to be patient at this point.

Guesses?

Well, if you want to have an official guess for this baby's arrival, you might want to go ahead and tell someone or write it down! None of that, "I'll just keep it to myself," then bragging if she comes on that day... I won't believe you if you haven't told anyone! ;)

So far it appears that there are going to be a lot of surprised and/or disappointed people if this little girl hangs on to her due date, or even past her due date. I haven't gotten a June prediction yet!

Here are the predictions so far:

May 14th (that's today... I guess I could be surprised, but I don't think that's happening!)
May 15th
May 17th
May 19th
May 24th
May 28th

My guess is the 28th. I don't know why. I don't have any secret maternal feelings that make me think that. It just sounds good. :)

Rangers Game

We went to a Rangers game on Friday with my side of the family, and my aunt's family. We enjoyed a delicious dinner before the game with the whole bunch.

After dinner we headed to the game. It was a really exciting game... until the 7th inning when the Rangers gave up 7 runs, using 3-4 different pitchers, and blew their lead (and ultimately the game).

I know I have a reputation for intentionally ruining my mother's pictures, but I had actually been smiling for several pictures as she tried to figure out how to do this panoramic picture... she finally figured it out the time I decided to make a goofy face. :)

Solomon and Evie are such a mess, especially when they are together! They had us cracking up the whole evening. They are so funny, so sweet, and SO full of energy! Uncle Matt made a good playground, I guess!

Matt and I decided to join in on the goofiness.

It's looking like this may be a rough season for the Rangers, but we'll still be cheering them on. GO RANGERS!

Canton Baby Shower

The Sunday before last (April 26) the church in Canton hosted a baby shower for us. Once again, we were showered with love, and blessings, and many, MANY gifts! I was sure thankful for it all, but I went home and crashed afterward!

Two of the younger girls from church were helping me with the gifts. One would hand me a new one, and the other would take the wrapping paper and bag when I was done. After already opening several gifts, one of them leaned over to me and said, "Whew... I think this baby is SPOILED!" I told her I thought she was exactly right! We got so many cute clothes, some incredible handmade and personalized gifts, and several things that we were wanting or needing for the nursery! One of the handmade gifts was a play toy that Pops (Matt's dad) made. I don't have a picture of it from the shower, but you'll see it in nursery pictures later.

Mammaw (Matt's grandmother) made us a baby quilt. We picked out the fabric for it, and she made a beautiful quilt! We hope to hang this one up in the nursery to display it. You'll see more pictures of it when we get nursery pictures up.

We also got this beautiful quilt. I absolutely love it. On the other side it has the alphabet in the same colors. You'll see pictures of it in the nursery in the future, too!

Once everything had been opened, and many "thank you's" had been passed around, we called Matt and Grangoat over to haul everything to our house (which, thankfully, is just next door!).

Mr. Organization-Matt had everything put away that night! It was a wonderful shower, and once again, Matt and I are so thankful!

36-week Update

We had our 36-week appointment yesterday and everything is looking very good! The baby is head down, and my body is properly preparing for having a baby! For those of you who don't care to know details about my cervix, I won't go into great detail, but for those who do, we were told, "2cm, 60%, -1." We spent quite a bit of time visiting with our doctor and talking through some serious things to expect in the coming weeks, and talking about ridiculous and funny things... like the following movie clip:

We really like our doctor and appreciate that we can talk with her seriously, and joke around with her. She has been very supportive and helpful.

I definitely feel more pregnant lately. The exhaustion hits me pretty hard most days. I'm still sleeping ok, at least compared to a lot of the stories I read online of other people's pregnancy sleep woes. I wake up several times to go to the bathroom or to change positions, but overall, I'm still getting a fair amount of sleep. I don't know if I can say the same for Matt... rolling over in bed is quite an event for me and I know I don't do it quietly or gently. Also, snoring can be a pregnancy symptom... or so I've heard.

My back is a little more achy than usual. I feel more pressure and aches and pains in... interesting places. I still have more good days than bad, though, so I'm doing just fine, especially since there are no major health concerns. My blood pressure has been good, and my weight gain has slowed waaaay down, which I'm thankful for. A month ago I got called out for gaining 7lbs in 2 weeks, but since then I've only gained about a pound a week, which is much more reasonable!

We have "the essentials" all ready to go in the nursery. We are still working on putting some things away and organizing things, but should this baby make an early arrival, we'd be just fine. Matt set up the car seat last night, and is hanging shelves on the wall in the nursery today. Speaking of the nursery, I think it is so cute. We will share pictures soon once we wrap up a few more things, but I'm telling you - IT'S CUTE. :)

I think that just about wraps up my 36-week update! Only 4-ish more weeks to go!
