7 Month BONUS PICTURES!

7 Months Old

Joanna Frances Porter
7 Months

  • She started solid foods! Her first food to try was avocado, shortly followed by sweet potatoes.
  • She still isn't a terrible sleeper, but she has started waking up more than before. Usually only once or twice during the night.
  • She still loves to be outside, so we are thankful for this mild winter and warm weather!
  • She is a momma and dad's girl. She usually isn't content with other people if she sees that we are around (and that she COULD be in our arms!).
  • She is a very pleasant, very happy, very playful baby!
  • No teeth yet!

Joanna Meets Santa

Joanna met Santa at Yesterland Farms! She never smiled, or acted REALLY excited about being there, but she didn't cry either!

6 Months Old

Joanna Frances Porter
6 Months

  • She sleeps all night, usually 9-11 hours straight. We are thankful for her sleep habits! Naps aren't as easy as they used to be, but we still get them in, though usually in my lap.

  • She loves to talk! Overall, she is a fairly quiet baby, but when she gets going, she is extra silly! She gurgles and squeals and makes all sorts of goofy noises
  • She still nurses for 10-15 minutes every 2-3 hours during the day.
  • She is a very happy baby. She has the sweetest smiles!
  • She still loves being outside!
  • She drools like crazy and puts everything in her mouth.
  • She sits up well on her own. We still put a pillow behind her, but she doesn't fall too often!

Putting Up the Tree

Joanna got to help put up her first Christmas tree! Well, Joanna and I mostly watched while Matt did the hard work!

Thanksgiving

Joanna survived her first Thanksgiving! We spent some time in Athens, Gun Barrel City, and Gainesville to celebrate with family. I don't have many pictures from Thanksgiving, but we did get this family picture while in Gainesville!

Family Pictures

We drove to Denison to have some family pictures taken by a young woman who was in our first youth group (the summer Matt and I met). She is, of course, grown now, and has a family of her own. Her photography business is HbT Photography, if you want to check out her business! It was cold when we were taking pictures, and Joanna wasn't super cooperative, but we're still thankful for the pictures she got!

Special Delivery

Joanna got her first package in the mail addressed to her! She got a beautiful orange dream catcher all the way from Hot Springs Village! I may have been more excited about the dream catcher than she was. :) I used to have several dream catchers as a kid! We hung it on her crib mobile!

iPad Pictures 2

And more!

Sweet cuddles with dad.

Matt has "the touch" and can get Joanna to sleep much easier than I can. Sometimes she even falls asleep in VERY uncomfortable-looking positions!

My two loves!

I absolutely love when she falls asleep holding on to my hand!

Matt and I had seen this outfit several times before, but never wanted to pay as much as the stores were asking for it. When we found it on clearance, we were so excited! She looks so stylish!

Silly daddy-daughter time!

I may get in trouble for this one day, but really, baby butts are just cute!

We took a trip to Austin to attend an event at the seminary and to visit our church family there. And, of course, to show off Joanna!

We got this portable, fold-up high chair as a gift before Joanna was born. It has turned out to be really handy! It is especially nice to set outside so we can all enjoy the beautiful weather!

Joanna at a high school football game.

Ok, so Matt and I were having some fun with this one... :)

We took a trip to the Rockwall area to pick up a jogging stroller that a friend gave us, and we did a little shopping while we were there. Joanna was so sweet the whole time!

Black and orange for Halloween!

She still loves being in the wrap!

We drove to Fort Worth for Elijah's first orchestra concert. Judah and I snagged Grangoat's phone and sent some silly pictures to Nana. :)

I put Joanna on her play mat while I tried to get a quick task done. She screamed and cried, but I knew she was ok, so I left her while I tried to finish up what I was doing. Suddenly it got VERY quiet. It got quiet so quickly that it really scared me and I went in to check on her. She was OUT. I got close to make sure she was still BREATHING, then realized she was just asleep!
