First Express Game of the Season

Matt and I went to our first Round Rock Express game of the season last weekend. We loved going the games even when they were the minor league team for the Astros, but it is SO much more fun now that they are affiliated with the Rangers! The game went back and forth, but the Express pulled out the win in the end. Here are a few pictures from the night...

We usually just get "cheap seats" in the Home Run Porch, but for the first game we decided to get nicer seats. We were two rows above the visitor's dugout.

Quick picture during the game...

Celebrating the win with my free hat (promotional give-away), my souvenir cup that Matt bought me (cheaper refills all season if you bring your cup back!), and a super cheesy "it's way past my bedtime" smile.

We had a great time, as usual. We already have tickets for a game coming up in a couple of weeks, and will hopefully catch several more games this summer. GO EXPRESS!

Matt & Ginny Kisses

Matt and I were sitting next to each other on the couch this evening and Ginny got a bit jealous. She insisted on being right up there with us. She became even more jealous when Matt gave me a kiss on the cheek. Every time he would kiss me on one cheek, she would kiss me on the other.

I feel so loved. :)

Mamaw Rossie Rolls

After a refresher course was needed on how to make Mamaw Rossie rolls, I made a promise to "practice" more often (much to Matt's delight) so that I wouldn't forget. So for our church's Easter potluck, I made over 50 rolls! Some of them looked a little odd, but they sure were tasty! They didn't last very long, either! :)

Some people at work found out that I made them and have requested a pan of fresh rolls to be brought to work... so I may have to make some more later this week. :) At least I should have the recipe down now!

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

This past weekend Matt's parents came down and we all went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in south Austin. It was a beautiful day and the clouds and a slight breeze kept the weather tolerable the majority of the time we were out there. Here are a few pictures that we took out there... there is a link at the bottom where you can see more pictures if you're interested.

New Car

Well, we bought a new car! What can I say? I know how to work a deal. :)

This is our new 2011 Toyota RAV4! It was the last 2011 on the lot, last day of the month, last day of the quarter... they wanted to sell it! We were firm with what we were willing to pay and had to "leave" the dealership twice before they finally gave us the price we wanted. We got a really good deal on it. They ended up coming several thousand dollars off the original asking price. We got $1000 off since Matt is graduating next month, more than double what my car was worth as a trade-in, and some other miscelaneous discounts that they added on to get our payments where we wanted them. Plus we got 0% APR! Like I said, they REALLY wanted to sell a car first thing in the morning! :)

It has a few cool features that we don't NEED, but that I like. :) It has a sunroof, a rear spoiler, and rails on top (which we'll probably never use, but I've always thought they look nice!).

The back seats fold down so there is tons of room in the back for when we need it (plenty of room for a 60 lb dog!). Since the spare tire is on the back, there is also storage room underneath the floormat in the back (where a spare would usually go). I'm sure Ginny will like the extra space (though we're both already dreading all of the dog hair in our new vehicle, haha!).

One more picture:

We weren't planning on getting another new vehicle quite yet, but we knew my car wouldn't last too much longer, so when we saw a good deal, we decided to check it out. Since we now have two 2011 vehicles, we're hoping it will be a VERY long time before we have to buy a new car again! So there ya go! That's our new vehicle.

(Every person we've shown it to gives us the "Oh, a carseat will fit nicely in here," or, "plenty of room in the back for a stroller and a pack and play." So, if you were thinking about leaving a similar comment, DON'T.)

Spring Break - 3

The last thing we did during Spring Break was catch a Texas Stars hockey game! We were behind the goal, on the second row. It was a blast! I don't care to watch hockey on TV (at all), but going to the games is pretty fun! Matt snapped a couple of pictures on his phone, so I thought I'd share. The lost the game, but made it exciting in the last minute or two by starting a comeback... but they didn't quite get there.

That wraps up our Spring Break! We had a day or two to just be at home and relax as well, so that was nice too.

Spring Break - 2

Ginny spent several days with Nana & Grangoat while Matt and I were in Little Rock. Before we headed back to Austin, we took a few pictures of her. She's kind of cute, you know?

This one cracks me up... doesn't she look smart? I said one of her trigger words (like food, walk, play, treat...) and got this reaction. :)

She's a pretty cute pup!

Spring Break - Part 1

I know, I know... I'm late posting this! For the first time ever, the school closed down for Spring Break! We had just gone through reaccreditation the week before (which was quite stressful at times), so I guess they thought we could all use a break.... so we headed to Little Rock!

We spent a few days with Pappa Mac & Jill and thoroughly enjoyed their company! It was great to get to relax, visit, and catch up! We forgot to bring our camera, but got a couple of pictures on our phones...

We tried to make friends with Blue, but I don't think she was crazy about the idea. This was about as "friendly" as we got together. :)

We drove out to Petit Jean State Park one day. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the view of the huge waterfall was pretty spectacular as well.

Pappa Mac also gave me a "refresher course" in Mamaw Rossie rolls. I think I have it down now! I even committed to making some for our church's Easter potluck next week. Matt reminds me often that I need to "practice" for him so I won't forget. :)

We really had a great few days spending time with them! We're looking forward to doing it again soon!
