Merry Christmas

In light of the recent events in Newtown, Connecticut, we thought it would be appropriate this year to join in the lament and past cries of Israel in waiting, “O come, O come Emmanuel,” as we, too, await the coming of Christ. We know and trust that God joins us in the darkness of the pit, and, because of this, our cries turn to praise and much rejoicing.

May God continue to hear and respond to the cries of his people, “Come, Lord Jesus,” and may we remain faithful and be a light in the midst of darkness until he comes.

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen” (Revelation 22:20-21).

Ginny

Earlier this week I was sitting at the table studying for finals and I heard some noise on the porch behind me. I turned around to find Ginny standing on Matt's chair and staring at me through the window. Matt and I were cracking up because she was perfectly content just standing there watching us. Silly dog. :)

Ginny and I sat out on the front porch for a little while this afternoon (I mean, why not? It's in the 70's here!).

Christmas Spirit

We put up our Christmas decorations several days ago. We don't have much (and are happy with that!) but we like our little set up. BY THE WAY, in case you're noticing the little stocking between our two big ones - it's Ginny's stocking. We're not making any baby hints or anything. :)

Also, what better to put us in the Christmas mood than Blue Bell Spiced Pumpkin Pecan ice cream?? I am not a big fan of pumpkin flavored ANYTHING, but this stuff is good. :)

 

 

** My dad pointed out that I wrote "Christmas directions" instead of "Christmas decorations." HA! It is fixed now! That's what I get for trying to write on my blog and look up directions for a place we're going tomorrow at the same time. Ooops! :)
