Ginny's Haircut (again)

Matt pointed out these two pictures which gives a much greater "before and after" look at Ginny's haircut. I bet it feels good to her to have some of that weight taken off!

Special Delivery

I've been a little stressed lately. Since school started up this week, my work load (at work AND home) just about doubled. Mr. Porter knew the past few weeks have been stressful and had this BEAUTIFUL sunflower arrangement delivered to me at work on Wednesday (the first day of school). I think he's a keeper.

Porch Time

Recently, Ginny loves spending time out on the front porch. She is pretty good about staying up on the porch without a leash. She will roam around, and stand at the top of the stairs and just check everything out. Matt and I went outside with her a few days ago and we snapped a few pictures.

She decided to just start barking... at nothing. :)

Matt and Ginny having a very serious conversation...

She'll go to the end of the porch and stick her nose through the rails like this and just check things out. She does the same thing at the back fence when we get home from work. We'll just see a nose poke through, then she'll run to the back door and wait on us.

Because everyone else is doing it!!

My Facebook newsfeed has been filled with "first day of school" pictures this week. Now, most of those pictures are of kids under the age of 10, but I have a first day of school, too! So here ya go. Enjoy! :)

Express - End of Season

The Express wrapped up their final home series this weekend. Matt and I went to the game on Friday night, then some friends from work offered us tickets to the game on Sunday night. So it was a two-game weekend for us!

We love going to the Express games, and since we moved to Pflugerville, it's only a 13 minute drive from our house to the ballpark. Not bad!

Rocking our Rangers shirts and Express hats!

Before the game started on Friday, they made an announcement that a guy from Cedar Park had been picked up by the Rangers during open tryouts, and they were introducing him. I looked up at the screen to see that PUDGE RODRIGUEZ was standing out on the field with him. PUDGE, people!! I was a wee bit excited. :) On Sunday we got to see Neftali Feliz pitch two innings. He is recovering from an injury and I think will be back with the Rangers for the last few weeks of the regular season (and hopefully the post-season).

They lost on Friday, but had an exciting win on Sunday. It was a great game to end the final home game of the season!

So until next year, GO EXPRESS!

Ginny's First Haircut

Ginny's hair had gotten really long, and she was constantly shedding. Matt would go outside to brush her, and it was just never ending. So we took her somewhere for her very. first. haircut. I may have teared up a little. Ok, ok, maybe it wasn't quite that dramatic! :)

When I took her in I got into a conversation with the groomer about catahoulas and their coloring. I explained to her that Ginny used to be very silver when she was young, but that as she's gotten older, she is mostly black now. I was SHOCKED when I came to pick her up to see that she is still VERY silver under all of that hair (and it really looks almost silver... not just grey)! She looked like a totally different dog. She looks more like a puppy again. :)

I can't find a GREAT comparison shot (which is surprising considering how many pictures I have of the dog), but here is a picture of her from Christmas...

... and here are some pictures of her after her haircut. It's mostly on her shoulders where it's a huge difference.

Matt and I laughed for days, because she looks so different. We were worried about the haircut being hard on her hips, but the groomers said she loved it. They kept her there for around 6-7 hours, because they gave her several breaks to make sure it wasn't hurting her hips.

Ginny's first haircut. She's so grown up. Before I know it, she'll be turning 4 next month.

*sigh*

:)

New Pet

We have a new neighborhood pet. This little fella has been roaming around for the past couple of days.

We went out onto the front porch the other night with Ginny and noticed it when Ginny perked up. We thought it was a lawn ornament in our neighbor's yard at first until we saw it take a step. Our neighbor came out laughing (probably because he saw our very confused faces) and explained that it just showed up and has been hanging around. He obviously isn't afraid of people (I got out of the car and got pretty close to take that picture!).

If he sticks around another day or two, we'll just HAVE to give him a name... and I might have to research what ducks eat. So if you have any great ideas for duck names, send 'em my way!

Pictures of Ginny

Some of these are pretty old, and some are new. Most of the pictures we take end up being of Ginny. :) So this is just a collection of several of those pictures that we find on our phones, cameras, laptops, etc. Enjoy! :)

Matt thought it would be funny to put peanut butter at the bottom of a glass and see if Ginny's tongue could reach it. As it turns out, YES her tongue can reach, and YES it was funny!

She falls asleep in some of the funniest positions!

I was having a FaceTime chat with Judah and Ginny wanted to join in.

She LOVES to have the window open!

Sleeping on the guest bed. :)

Beautiful Song

Trust me. You want to listen to this. You need to listen to the WHOLE thing. Do it.
