(512) Anniversary

The (512) Brewing Company here in Austin celebrated its 5th anniversary this weekend. Josh and Carly drove down to go with us to an event they had. We were quickly reminded that we were in Austin.... boy, there are some odd people here! We waited in line behind a couple in their 60's or 70's wearing tie-dye shirts, bell bottoms, and blue wigs. Odd. We also saw many people who took the term "beer belly" to a whole new level. Yikes.

We found a cozy spot, set up camping chairs, tasted some new beers, and just enjoyed sitting around and visiting. Things picked up later in the afternoon and there got to be too many people for our taste, so we packed up and headed home.

Ginny Updates

A few weeks ago we got a lot of rain. I think we got about 6 inches in one day in Pflugerville. The rain was coming in hard against our front window. I opened up the blinds and Ginny calmly walked over, rested her head on the windowsill, and just watched it! She seemed to love it.

I stayed home sick from work one day not long ago so I spent the day hanging out with my favorite pup. She was just dying to get up on the bed with me, but she can't jump up there anymore. Finally, I picked her up and let her join me. Once she was up there, she was being a ham and doing her "embarrassed" trick over and over... ha!

This was last night... Matt grilled some pork loin and we were sitting on the couch eating dinner. She stretched across from "her" recliner to his, and looked at him this way the whole time he ate. I think she has the puppy-dog eyes down!

... AND of course she got what she wanted in the end. ;)

Thomas Aquinas Cat

This is my friend, Thomas Aquinas Cat. The unmeowed meower.

(try to ignore all of my computer cords reflecting in the window!)

He hangs around Austin Grad and entertains us occasionally. He is very curious and will stand up on the window if you get his attention. He is very cute, very curious, and very playful. I certainly don't consider myself a "cat person," but he's alright.
